Praxeo RTS FAQ's
We have documented some of the questions our clients have asked and listed here for your convenience. However please do not hesitate to contact us on 1 300 665 818 if you cannot find what you are looking for.
Where do I put the token? Your token will arrive with a padlock and also laminated instructions on how to login and logout. We recommend that you padlock the token somewhere accessible but secure.
How often does the unique token number change? The unique token number changes every 60 seconds. Even if the number has changed on the token you can still SMS the previous number into the Praxeo server as Praxeo will recognise that previous number.
Can the same phone be used for several people? Yes you can use the same phone for several people as long as they are all registered to that phone in the Praxeo server and as long as they add their User ID to the end of the message. So the message would be Site ID Token Number in/out User Id.
Do we get charged for the SMS messages? Yes all SMS messages sent and received by the Praxeo server will be charged at $0.09 in AUS (or $0.11 in NZ). SMS charges on individual phones will be charged by the individual’s phone carrier as per their plan or contract.
How long does the token last? The token lasts for three years and then the battery runs out. When this happens we shall send you a new token.
Why should my staff use their own phones to SMS in and out? We use the person’s mobile to identify them in the system. Also, if your staff are using their own phones in order to SMS in and out then they may be able to claim some of their mobile phone expenses as a work-required tax deductable.
| Who will pay for the SMS messages on my staff’s phones? We recommend that you increase each shift by 60c - $1.00 to cover the SMS charges. This can be done by paying a specific shift allowance. |
How do the alerts work? You can set up the automatic alerts to let you know, by email or SMS, if the correct amount of staff have arrived at work at the time expected and if not who is missing. Also the alerts can be set up to let you know if anyone is still in the building after the time they were meant to have left therefore meeting your duty of care.
| How do I add new users? You can add new users via the Praxeo server or via SMS from your mobile phone. N.B: new users need to be registered with a mobile phone and registered to one of your sites BEFORE they attempt to log-on. You will receive an automatic alert if a person who is not registered to your site attempts to log-on. |
| Having trouble getting into the Praxeo server? Make sure that your popup blocker is turned off before you go to www.praxeo.net. To do this click on tools in the menu bar in Internet Explorer, click on Pop-Up Blocker on the drop down menu and then choose Turn off Pop-Up Blocker. |

How do I convince my staff to use it ? There is always a learning curve when introducing something new, but we find most staff are up and running within the first week. Benefits for the staff include:
- Their mobile phone expenses are partially or fully tax deductable;
- You are meeting your duty of care by ensuring that they arrive and leave work – this is especially important for staff working on alone.
Those are the “carrots”. You can also use the “stick” of running your time-sheets against it and monitor time and attendance more closely.
