Kevah – The Original Mobile Solution

Kevah was our first product, and was developed in 2001-2. Kevah was unique in the Australia for a number of reasons -

  • It was a mobile application, running on Palm OS handhelds,
  • It captured photos, voice and text, in a single form,
  • When saved, the form created a secure audit trail.

These innovations were so unique that the solution was patented, and we continue to hold the patent on these key features of a mobile reporting application in Australia and New Zealand.

Kevah was quickly adopted by leaders in cleaning and facilities management, who were looking for a way to document their work, perform audits, inspections, incident reports – all manner of field reports.

Over the years, we kept progressing the Kevah platform – up-dating from the original PDA’s to smartphones when the Palm Treo arrived, and then adding support for Windows Mobile devices.

A Major Upgrade

In 2009, we reached the point where we felt the Kevah platform had been stretched as far as it could, and it was time for a new solution. The commercial cleaning and facilities management industry had grown in sophistication, and we had progressed from talking about why a company would want mobility, to looking at how they can use mobility effectively.

Efficient management of work, quality assurance, and tracking the QA cycle remained big issues for all our clients. The solution had to be inexpensive enough to be implemented across all sites, have work-flow smarts, and provide a fixed structure while also being flexible.

The result of these requirements was Kevah Works – the expanded Kevah concept. Kevah Works keeps the same core functions of being able to create a flexible form, and capture photos, voice and text in on a mobile device in the field. However, it also adds a host of new features:

  • Job management – for periodicals, ad hoc work, and extra work,
  • Tracking the quality management cycle – from inspection, to raising non-conformances, to tracking these jobs and seeing them closed out,
  • An easier approach to creating form,
  • A web and mobile application that will work across multiple operating systems and mobile devices.
